Event #15 - Customshop - October 2, 2025

You know you’re at a fancy place when you have to google the ingredients of every item on the menu…. What is gremolata?.... what is “jimmy nardello”?;… What is a lunchbox pepper? What are rice grits? (Did they leave out the “&” and why would you serve both??)

And sometimes fancy does not mean tasty. But in this case it definitely does!

Nearly everyone got either the intensely flavorful chorizo gnocchi or the beautifully-seared sea scallops (with rice grits). But others also got the lamb canestri pasta and the barramundi (fish). The empanadas were simply amazing… the spices, seasonings, and preparation were impressive. I also ordered the “Joe’s and Amy’s potatoes”, which are probably the best prepared, most flavorful potatoes of any type that I’ve ever had!

Additionally, the ambiance of the restaurant was beautiful and cozy. We had a table of 8 and another table of 3, so I was shuttling back and forth between the two a few times. Everyone who attended was so delightful and we had a great time with great conversations.

Thank you to Customshop for welcoming us and making it a fantastic fall evening!
